Chappaqua, NY (prHWY.com) March 8, 2012 - It's the last day of a week-long intensive rock session, and a mixed ensemble of boys and girls of similar age and musical taste has really started to click while playing "Times Like These" by the Foo Fighters. Instructor Dan Wintersteen has a pleased look on his face as the drummer pounds out a steady beat while the lead singer belts the chorus line.

This is a typical scene, which occurs all summer long at the Westchester Music Conservatory in White Plains, NY. New York Rock Academy's founder, Janet Angier, has assembled a crew of some of the finest music teachers and players in the nation. The result, is that your child can learn their favorite song and form their first band in about a week. The award winning methods that Janet and her staff utilizes has helped students around the world pursue their musical careers.

Figuring out what to do with your kids after school hours and during the summer months can be a real challenge. If the traditional activities that school's offer do not appeal to your children, they can learn about teamwork and fine motor skills at the New York Rock Academy. If your child has expressed interest in learning how to play an instrument, let NYRA get them on the fast track to Rockin' Out to their favorite songs after just a week of lessons.
