Danube and APID announces launch of interior design competition
Contest aims at showcasing unique talent and creativity of region's interior design industry

According to Danube, the competition is open to any senior or graduate interior design student coming from any college or university within the GCC region. The competition will be accepting individual entries and entries made by a group with a maximum of four members. Deadline for the registration of entries will be on March 20, 2012, while the deadline of the submission of entries will be on May 8, 2012. The competition is split into two categories; the first is for the design of a reception lounge for a small private museum housing a collection of Middle Eastern contemporary art while the second category is for the design of a display fixture.
"The Middle East region is home to some of the most creative and highly talented interior designers, which is strongly reflected in the designs seen in key landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, The Makkah Clock Royal Tower, The Kuwait Towers, among others" said Rizwan Sajan, Founder and Chairman, Danube. "We have launched this interior design competition as part of a move to help boost the region's interior design segment and also to discover the talent of emerging interior designers. We look forward to seeing engaging and interesting designs from students coming from all over the region."

To date, several universities have already expressed their interest in taking part of the competition. These academic institutions include American University in Dubai, American University in Sharjah, Ajman Institute of Science and Technology, Al Ghurair University, Al Hosn University, Manipal University and Sharjah University.
