Burton upon Trent, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) March 22, 2012 - 22nd March , 2012 :- The iconic image of snow-capped Kilimanjaro has long been a powerful draw for adventure seekers more couples than ever want to climb Kilimanjaro for their wedding and it has also become really popular as the ultimate honeymoon adventure.

Victoria and Larry Hipperson were not content with the idea of spending two weeks being pampered lying on a beach in the Caribbean but instead chose to climb Kilimanjaro to exchange their wedding vows on top, spending their first night of their married life huddled together in a tiny tent with two thick sleeping bags.

"One day, right out of the blue, Larry popped the big question and asked if I'd marry him and then uttered the immortal words of "I thought we could climb Kilimanjaro for our wedding to make it really special"! He swapped his suit and I swopped my wedding dress for climbing boots and gaiters for what must have been the most challenging and arguably the most romantic exchanging of vows at 5895 metres" says Victoria who lives in Diss, Norfolk.

"So why climb Kilimanjaro, you might ask." adds Victoria "I've never been to Africa and it was a lifetime ambition of mine to climb it. Larry and I met over 15 years ago and I mentioned it to him back then and he said that he'd love to do it too. I just didn't realise that it would take us so long to get around to it and under what circumstances we would be doing it! It seemed the perfect opportunity for us to tie the knot and I am so happy that friends and family from both sides of the Atlantic didn't think we were totally crazy and decided to join us on our Kilimanjaro wedding adventure. I know most brides say that their wedding day is the best day of their lives, but I can honestly say that mine was the most magically memorable day of my life."

Jane Deakin of Private Kilimanjaro commented "A big congratulations to Victoria and Larry, not only for scaling one of the world's 7 highest summits, but also on their marriage. We have organised many trips for honeymooners, but Larry and Victoria were our first wedding on Kilimanjaro. Not only does Tanzania have the world's tallest freestanding mountain, but also some of the greatest safari parks and the most idyllic beaches right on your doorstep. The Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater safari parks are only a few hours drive away and a four day trip can take in all of the highlights of Southern Tanzania with romantic evenings in the most wonderful lodges. And after that it is just a short hop to the idyllic beaches of Zanzibar, a perfect place to let tired legs recover in the sun and make up for those nights in a tent. Put them all together and you have the ultimate wedding and honeymoon adventure"
