Ray Sayeed

Passionate about pursuing a career in health care, Loyola University Chicago student Ray Sayeed recently attended a number of informational events.

Us, FL (prHWY.com) April 2, 2012 - A pre-medicine and Health Systems Management student in his first year at the noted Jesuit institution, Ray Sayeed also serves as a senator in the Loyola University Chicago Unified Student Government Association. Additionally, he gained hands-on experience through several shadowing opportunities in a clinic in Homewood, Illinois, under Dr. Zeba Shakir and at the Sinai Medical Group under Dr. Prem Rupani. Presently, he volunteers at the emergency department of St. James Hospital at the Olympia Fields campus. He has completed 54.5 additional volunteer hours at the same hospital.

Now an active member in Loyola's student body, Ray Sayeed earned admission by completing an impressive high school career at Lincoln-Way East High School. In addition to maintaining a consistent presence on the honor roll, Sayeed received the 2009 Prairie State Achievement Award for exceeding Illinois state standards in reading, mathematics, and science. Other leadership roles include Vice President of the Future Business Leaders of America; Student Ambassador, in which he supported new students to the high school; and a member of community service organization the Key Club.

Sayeed is also a talented athlete and competed on the men's varsity golf and tennis teams, receiving the third place ribbon in the Illinois tennis singles state competition. A multifaceted athlete, student, and humanitarian, Ray Sayeed enjoys reading in his spare time and lists his favorite work as Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom.
