More than 500 candidates from several Institute/colleges in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Himachal and Chandigarh registered for interviews on both days. The selection process consisted of Pre Placement Talks, Written Tests, Data Interpretation and then HR talks. The selected candidates have been offered packages ranging between 2.5 to 6.5 Lacs/Annum. The candidates were hosted very well and all the arrangements for the basic requirements were taken care by the institute's management. Students of the institute have also taken active participation in the fair to manage the event.
The Corporate Relation Manager Mr. Muneesh Marwaha at SGI Campus, told that SGI has established nodal centre for training & placement in the region, therefore such job-fairs are organized on regular basis to facilitate the students of the Institute, nearby areas and adjoining states. Executives of Corporate Relations at SGI told that such job-fairs are important for the self grooming and motivation of the students of SGI, so that when their students gets passed out from SGI they have their suitable job with them and need not to worry about their career. SGI has established Embedded Research and Development Centre to inculcate the technical expertise among the student of SGI and promoting entrepreneurship among the youth. SGI has also started organizing seminars, workshops and trainings in campus as well as outside the campus for the students of SGI as well as other institutes/colleges to make them aware of latest technologies like Robotics, VLSI & Embedded Research and Multimedia & Gaming etc.
Organizing events which contribute to better future prospective of students has been key policy of SGI and accordingly many such programmes and other related events are organized regularly. Students of any part of the country can participate in such events. Mr. Vishal Dora, TPO at SGI Campus with Mr. Rahul Kaushik (CSE 3rd Year), Mr. Gaurav Goel (CSE 1st year), Ms. Prerna Bhasin (CSE 1st year), Ms. Priyanka (BBA- 1st year), Mr. Sudhir (EEE-1st Year), Mr. Amit (ME-1st Year) and Mr. Vikas (ME 2nd year) student coordinators for the placement drive to help out the students and company.
