chennai, India (prHWY.com) April 6, 2012 - TREKKING ORGANISERS IN CHENNAI

With the monotonous nature of everyday work, cobwebs have started springing up, all around us. Our lives yearn for an adventure that could heighten our spirits and bring some light to an otherwise dark place, which has become our life. One of the few things that we could do would be to take on a mountaineering trip, which would surely lighten our spirits and ensure that we return back home, refreshed and revitalized. But there is a very big problem, which comes along with that thought. For those of us, who stay in Chennai, there isn't a major mountain range nearby that we could go to. Unfortunately, most of that is in the Himalayas. While that would make for a great trip, it would drain a lot out of both the body and mind.
But it is not all bad news, most of us confuse between mountaineering and another adventurous trip, that most of us could take. It is trekking. A trek is a long, adventurous journey undertaken on foot in areas where common means of transport is generally not available. Whilst mountaineering is not possible in Chennai, trekking is certainly a viable option. There are plenty of undisturbed areas, where one could trek. There are plenty of trekking organizers in Chennai and quite a few places in and around Chennai where once could have a delightful trekking experience. All of these places are covered extensively by the trekking organizers.
Yelagiri is a much preferred location for the first timers. This is one of the first places on the list of all the Chennai trekking organizers. Yelagiri is 3 hours from Bangalore or Chennai. And if you are interested in Trekking and are of the religious kind, you could try the Tirupathi - Tirumala pedestrian way (around 11 kms walk). Basically, it is a walk from Alipiri up to the Tirumala hills. From Tirumala hills, you are taken on the "Tirumala-Papavinasanam - 8 kms Forest Trail". Although this is through the forest, it is not so scenic, but rest assured, you are in for a good trek.
Some trekking organizers also take you to check out the "Papavinasanam Check post Bus Stop" and the small road for this trekking is just 100 meters to the left side of the bus stop. When you try this, you are taken to visit the "Jabali Theertham". You will also see a Hanuman temple amidst the forest which is a popular choice among the trekkers. Another place also in my mind of the trekking organizer is in the Tada forests (Tamilnadu - Andhra Pradesh Border) which involves a 12 kms walk in a Plain Road followed by a 3 kms walk through forests. You will, on your way, also see a waterfall and a forest river. This is better suited for bigger groups but is adventure not to be missed nevertheless.
Since trekking started developing into a hobby of sorts, for many of those in Chennai, the number of trekking organizers has also been on the rise. As more and more people, take to trekking, the organizers are reaping rich rewards for their work and continue to move towards economic stability, which only a few years back, was nothing more than a dream. And more people have started taking up trekking organizing as a job, which they are bound to enjoy. After all, who is not going to enjoy a lifetime of adventure and trekking for as long as their hearts desire?
