The Remi Group Donates $20k to Local Children's Hospital

The Remi Group donated $20k to Levine Children's Hospital and established a special needs fund named after the company, The Remi Group Children's Fund.

Charlotte, NC (prHWY.com) April 13, 2012 - At the end of 2011, The Remi Group started a fundraising event called Benevolent Beards to benefit Levine Children's Hospital's Nephrology Special Needs Fund (pediatric kidney disorders). Children with kidney disorders are often required to undergo kidney dialysis, which places tremendous emotional, physical, and financial stress on families. Since Benevolent Beards was The Remi Group's first major fundraising event, the company set a goal to raise $10,000. After surpassing that goal, the company decided to double it to $20,000.

The seven members of The Remi Group's management team who participated in Benevolent Beards grew their beards out during the event and were responsible for soliciting donations from friends, family, coworkers, and business contacts. Between those donations and company sponsored events such as a bake sale, chili cook-off, donut breakfast, and various other events, Benevolent Beards was able to raise $13,036 that went toward the final donation of $20,000.

Because of the large donation, The Remi Group was granted the right to establish their own special needs fund named after the company, The Remi Group Children's Fund. During the remainder of 2012, The Remi Group Children's Fund will support Levine Children's Hospital's Nephrology Unit and the company will continue to raise money for the Fund.
