Easton, PA (prHWY.com) April 16, 2012 - aston, PA- Occupy Easton and The Sierra Club of Leigh Valley coordinately invite the Easton Community to celebrate Earth Day by attending their Say No To GMO and Buy Local! Event at Scott Park on April 22, 2012. There will be speakers, live music, seed giveaways, sign-making station, local and organic vendors, local activist groups with tables, petition sign-up, and a picnic.

Occupy Easton and the Sierra Club will have speakers to discuss the dangers of GMO foods are to our food supply. Companies, like Monsanto, who produces GMO seeds are trying to force local and organic farmers out of business by making them destroying their seeds. Monsanto has sued numerous small farmers for patent infringement for any farmer who has fields that contaminated by GMO seeds through the natural process of seed drifting.

Speakers will include, but not exclusive to, are: Dave Harder from Nature's Way , Karen Feridun from Marea & Berks Gas Truth , Julie Ann Edgar from LV Gas Truth, and Dan Hunter from Hunter Hills Farm. Karen Feridun will talk about the effect of GMOs on our food supply. Dan Hunter will talk about the benefits of CSAs. Julie Ann Edger will talk about the general effects of GMOs on our environment.

The picnic is part of the Earth Day Picnic for Our Planet! Occupy Easton and Sierra Club will be part of the attempt at the Guinness World Record for having the largest multi-venue picnic in a 24-hour period. Occupy Easton and the Sierra Club is asking everyone who wants to precipitate in event to bring your picnic basket and blankets. Also, there will be area for local vendors and organizations to have tables to display their commitment to the community.
