Glasgow, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) April 19, 2012 - The UK's love affair with laminate flooring has given many laminate manufacturing companies a light at the end of a gloomy tunnel. The EPLF (European Producers of Laminate Flooring) has reported a rise in UK laminate flooring sales, whilst other markets have remained static or continued to fall. The UK demand for laminate is the fourth largest in Europe and over the last year has increased by 1m sq m whilst the overall demand has fallen by 4%. Germany is the largest European market although this has fallen from the previous year. Second was Turkey and France third, but all of these have seen either a fall in sales or remain unchanged.

David Samuel at First Floors says 'In the UK the popularity of Laminate is increasing, as people are realising that it offers a very convincing wood finish, whilst at a fraction of the price. We are facing very hard economic times in the UK and people are realising that it offers an ideal alternative to the more expensive real wood products currently on the market.'
