The Search For America's Best Putter Is On
A search is on to identify America's Best Putter among amateur and professional golfers. The answer will be discovered at the 2012 U.S. Putting Tour National Championship in Rancho Santa Fe, California at the Morgan Run Club and Resort.

The putting championship is open to all golfers, including amateurs and professionals, men and women, juniors and seniors. A Pro Division will feature a cash purse that could reach $50,000 with a full field, including a first-place prize of $20,000. There also are four amateur divisions for men, women, juniors and seniors.
"Our 18-hole championship putting course at Morgan Run will help separate the pretenders from the contenders," said U.S. Putting Tour president, Jim Hartley. "When the pressure is on, we'll see who comes out on top as America's Best Putter."
Hartley indicated that golfers can enter the USPT Championship now at http://www.usputtingtour.com/. He said that space in the Pro and Amateur Divisions is limited, so golfers are encouraged to register early.
The Pro Division consists of 72 holes of putting over two days followed by a third day of single-elimination match play for the top 32 players. Each Amateur Division will be decided over 72 holes of putting, which competitors will play over two days.
Mr. Hartley said that the putting course will feature a combination of holes that have one-putt and three-putt potential. The course will be laid out on Morgan Run's two large practice putting greens, which provides the USPT with ample room to change hole locations each day during the tournament week.
Participants in the USPT Championship will have the opportunity to play and stay at Morgan Run Resort for special USPT rates. In addition, the USPT plans to stage on-course competitions for competitors, which will take place before and after the golfers play their putting rounds.
More information on how to enter the putting championship is available at http://www.usputtingtour.com/putting-championship.html.
