"Arlington" Music Video Honours Fallen and Injured American Servicemen and Women, Released to Encourage Donations
Music Video Receives Best Merit Award 2012 for Best Music Video at Accolade Film Festival

"Arlington is meant to honour the astounding number of Americans who have given their lives and been injured in war," says Lisa Nemzo. "This is a passion project for our cast and crew. Each and every one of us volunteered our time for this project because we want Americans to understand the utmost sacrifice these servicemen and women have made. We hope that those moved by our film will donate to Global Stress Initiative and Operation Warrior Wellness to ensure that our returning veterans and their loved ones and families of the fallen are taken care of."
"Arlington" is a music video featuring the song of the same name written by Lisa Nemzo and now deceased lyricist Artie Colatrella. The video and song are inspired by the moving story of Michael Arciola's mother, and her long, dedicated trips from her home in Elmsford, New York to Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia to visit her son's grave and to read to him his favorite childhood story.
"I first learned of Michael's story in the summer of 2011 and was immediately moved to write a powerful song that would memorialize the fallen heroes and the countless families affected by war," notes Nemzo. "As a country, we cannot turn a blind eye and forget what these families have sacrificed and continue to struggle with. We hope to help both the Global Stress Initiative and Operation Warrior Wellness in their efforts to assist and heal our veterans and families living with PTSD."
Directed by Mary Ann Skweres, the "Arlington" music video is the recipient of the prestigious Best Merit Award 2012 for Best Music Video at the Accolade Film Festival held in La Jolla, CA. The video takes the viewer through a sound and visual experience of the inevitable grief when a loss of life occurs during times of war. The viewer witnesses the story of a son, highlighting his military service as a young man, his relationship with his mother and her remembrance of him during her regular trips to Arlington National Cemetery, where the United States Army buries its lost warriors in approximately 30 services per day.
