Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) May 3, 2012 - Everyone knows the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. What people might not know is what happened after the story. A reporter for the Houston Chronicle went on a research spree to hunt down that answer, and what he found just might surprise people.

"Children always used to make fun of me in school", said reporter Chris McCaughey. "I was the one who was obsessed with fairy tales, and always wanted to know what happened after the fairy tale. Now I get a chance to answer that question."

The Snow White fairy tale ended with the price waking her up from a poisoned slumber, and the seven dwarves went off and lived happily ever after. McCaughey caught up with some of the relatives of those seven dwarves to see if that was what really happened, or if there were things that weren't reported.

"What I discovered was that yes Snow White and the prince lived happily ever after", said McCaughey. "But for the dwarves it was anything but happily ever after."

McCaughey was able to interview several relatives who knew the original seven dwarves. The tales that were told were not only shocking, but extremely upsetting. The interview with Doc's nephew, Vet showed a side of Snow White that is often left out of fairy tale books.

"My uncle Doc just wanted to branch out and get a home on his own", explained Vet. "When he went to ask Snow White for an employment reference she refused. She said Doc should be grateful for her cooking and cleaning for him, and now it was his turn to serve her. She just out and out refused."

Doc was applying for an FHA loan which requires documentation of previous employment records and recommendations from employers. After breaking the spell, Snow White moved into the castle with the prince and employed the seven dwarves as miniature bodyguards. Doc was trying to purchase a home after serving Snow White for 10 faithful years.

"It was disgraceful", said Vet. "Snow White turned into a real diva. She forgot who was there for her when someone wanted to kill her."

McCaughey plans to publish his findings about the after story of Snow White in a book set to be released sometime in 2013. He currently is keeping people updated with stories, photos and interview snippets on his blog titled "Is Happily Ever After Really What You Think".
