Celebrity Singers Sing Personalized Songs for Music Production School Project
Ever wonder what it would be like to have Frank Sinatra or Elvis sing a love song to a loved one? Ever wonder what it would sound like if Elvis had been around and able to make a remix of Nsync's hit song "Dirty Pop"?

"We were learning about altering musical tracks", explained music student Michael Tones. "We would take the voice of someone and make it say something that was completely unrelated to what they said, it was so cool."
The technique that Tones learned to do with other people's voices can be used on famous singers. This technique can be applied to make the singers voice sound as if they are singing a song to a specific individual, or even make it sound like they were singing one of today's top hits.
"It really is kind of cool", said classmate Stefan Higgins. "My mom loves Elvis. For a class project I brought her a CD of Elvis singing a love song dedicated just to her. She almost fainted. She had no idea it wasn't him at all."
The music production school has worked together as a whole to create several different tracks that take famous singers and have them sing today's top hits from people like Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber. The school plans on creating an entire CD of these songs and selling it online. All profits will go to purchasing new equipment for the production school.
"What started out as a class project has turned into something that can make us money", said Tones. "We are in desprate need of new equipment but it costs so much to replace it. This is our ticket to new equipment."
The popularity of customized music has encouraged the students to branch out. The music production school plans on developing a blog that individuals can place orders for CDs, songs or favorite celebrities to sing them a song. Within one day of the launch of the blog, over 10 orders were placed for celebrities from Lady Gaga to Frank Sinatra to sing a variety of songs and jingles.
"I am really proud of my students", said instructor Mark Triggers. "They are doing something to improve their school, while fine tuning their skills at the same time. This will look amazing on a resume, and it can make a lot of people happy. I just can't say enough how proud I am of them."
