Pods Land in College Campus' Parking Lot for Study Time
Colleges are constantly making renovations to their campuses in an effort to improve their appeal to incoming students.

"What turned into a good idea to improve student and administration relationships turned sour", said a representative for Shoreview Community College. "The students had no place to study, and they made their disappointment heard loud and clear."
Shoreview Community College closed down the official study lounges for the students for eight long weeks. This presented a problem for students as they had no quiet study area to study in. They were forced to choose between the noisy cafeteria or library which had poor lighting.
"We didn't realize what a commotion this would cause", said the representative. "We apologized and tried to make things right immediately, but our options were limited."
Renovations were going on across 90% of the campus, which presented administrative officials with a challenge in figuring out where to make a temporary study lounge. That was until the local moving pods company stepped in.
"I offered the community college the use of my moving pods", said owner of We'll Move UR Stuff, Todd Tillman. "I was an alumnus of the college and know the importance of having a quiet place to just study and get your schoolwork done in."
We'll Move UR Stuff offered the school the use of 20 medium sized moving pods. Each of the moving pods would be placed in the parking lot of the community college, and transformed into a study lounge for students.
"Normally we don't encourage use or storage of humans in the pods", said Tillman. "But these pods are spacious enough to be used as a small study lounge, and it gives people the quiet area they need to study."
The arrival of the moving pods turned into some type of school joke with the student council making a banner that announced "Welcome to SCC Pods. Land at Your Own Risk".
"Students were at first skeptical and laughed at the idea", said freshman Katie Hallmond. "It wasn't until they tried to study in the cafeteria or library that they realized just what a God send these things were. Now you can't even find a pod to study in they are so popular."
The pods will remain on the college campus until the new student study lounge is unveiled in September.
