Zero Billion & Incubator hosts first ever Hackathon in Pakistan

Zero Billion and Incubator holds first ever mobile application development hackathon in Pakistan. With a vision to help the local mobile application development industry in their growth, Zero Billion and Incubator brought MoSync AB to Pakistan.

Lahore, Pakistan (prHWY.com) May 6, 2012 - Lahore, Pakistan -- May 07, 2012 -- With an objective to promote innovation in the rapidly growing IT industry and earn recognition for Pakistan in the international market, Zero Billion & Incubator Pakistan, in collaboration with MoSync AB, a Swedish company, hosted the first of its kind mobile application Hackathon at a local hotel in Lahore, Pakistan (Marvel Hotel). MoSynac AB has developed a tool to develop cross platform mobile applications, named as MoSync and rewarded the top 3 entries out of the 100 developers who participated in the Hackathon and developed mobile apps using MoSync cross platform mobile application development tool.

Zero Billion, as the pioneering mobile application marketing & enterprise mobility solution provider company in Pakistan, in collaboration with Incubator Pakistan envisions holding more Hackathons and mobile meet ups to promote startup culture and empower local IT workforce. Hackathon - is usually a one day activity in which developers try to innovate using a specific technology - it's called Hackathon because in a single activity they will learn all ins and outs of a specific technology during the event by working on it.

The event was a good opportunity to learn MoSync SDK in one single day and the local talent got to learn about latest trends in mobile apps market. The apps that stood out and got the prizes were:

First Prize (Nokia Lumia 800): Earth Quake Explorer by Usman Ur Rehman Ahmed
Second Prize (HTC Desire HD): Game Engine for MoSync by Safwan Ahmed
Third Prize (iPOD Touch): Unit Conversion app for engineers by group from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore lead by Jawad Ahmed

In order to gain International exposure MoSync has shared videos and pictures of Hackathon in Europe, through this event the industry professional also got a good platform to socialize with professionals in the market and learn from them.
