Normally, a person needs about seven hours of sleep per day in order to maintain proper circulation of blood. Constantly missing right time to sleep can lead to abnormalities in your system. Also, deficiency in sleeping can lead to several illness such as Apnea and high blood pressure.

Sleep Apnea is a condition where a person suffers a difficulty in breathing even while at sleep. This kind of disorder greatly affects the overall well being of a person. Most common signs of this disorder is shallow breathing during asleep and pauses in breathing. There are times when a person with Apnea experience a five second pause in breathing (sometimes very deep breathing). This usually occurs up to 30 times per hour of sleep.

The sad thing about sleep Apnea is that most patients who suffered this disorder doesn't even know that they are already suffering it because the symptoms mostly occurs during asleep. Unlike other Sleep disorders, Apnea may not require external interference because a patient can overcome it on its own. Proper respiration resumes once the breathing pauses are over. A person with sleep apnea experiences some side effects which includes restlessness, headaches, forgetfulness, highly irritable mood and even depression.

Aside from Apnea, there are other sleep disorders which affects the person's overall wellness. A common sleep disorder that most people have is "insomnia." People with poor sleep habits are often affected or caused by Insomnia. Once a person feels restless and unable to sleep during sleeping hours, he/she most likely suffers insomnia. Studies show that people aging from 20 to 40 are the most affected age bracket. This is probably a result of the type of lifestyle that these people have.

Insomnia may not be very crucial at first, but in the long run it can lead to other health issues. As much as normal sleep hours is concerned, people with insomnia are considered abnormal. The normal hours of sleep is seven; people with insomnia have only 2 to 3 hours of sleep which is not even continuous.

The best thing to do when you have this kind of sleep disorders is to contact your doctor and ask for advice. Most of the time, they will give you a medication along with a lifestyle plan. The best way to overcome any sleep disorder is to promote a healthy lifestyle. Exercise a lot and eat healthy foods. Also, try to sleep on the right time at the right duration. In the long run, you will surely find yourself healthier than ever!
