They can be rented all over the place for about 150 baht a day and longer term rentals can be negotiated. Just use caution as they are dangerous.
Tuk Tuks and taxis are very prevalent as well, they will take you anywhere in Hua Hin for the equivalent of a few dollars. Getting your hands on a bicycle is a fun alternative as well but walking is the safest, it will just take time to get to where you want to go.
Hua Hin Thailand - You should make note that there is a major highway with heavy traffic that cuts right through the city, so be careful when crossing. Overall getting around Hua Hin is quite simple and easy.....just remember to ride on the left side of the road!
Eating in Hua Hin
In the tourist area of Hua Hin you can find a wide variety of western restaurants. These restaurants also serve Thai dishes, but they are mediocre and a bit overpriced. To find delicious and cheap Thai food you must venture away from the tourist area.
Asia Islands - Just across the railroad tracks you will find multiple food stalls and restaurants making a variety of dishes that cost around 20 to 40 baht. Noodle soup and pulled pork with rice are among the most popular and are definitely the easiest to order. Out of all the different vendors we went to not one had an English menu and some didn't have a menu at all.
This is the perfect opportunity to practice speaking Thai. We memorized a few names of some popular dishes and were able to order without any problems. Another way to go about it is look at what the Thai's are ordering and say "same same". Either way you will get an incredible tasting dish for a very low price. If you end up staying at our recommended hotel, all these vendors and restaurants are within walking distance and are a great convenience.
