French Artists Find a Home and an Audience at Genty Fine Art in Kent
The artists are chosen for their masterful use of materials, unique point of view, and the emotional impact of their work.

Gallery owners Helen and David Genty recently moved their operations from France to Britain in order to champion the works of Jean-Claude Mathieu, Jacques Dominioni, Francoise Bossut, Roger Phillpot, and more. These French sculptures and paintings come from a wide range of styles and traditions but are united by their craftsmanship and quality.
Many of the artists featured at Genty Fine Art studied in prestigious art schools and under the tutelage of famous artists. Jean-Claude Mathieu is a sculptor who was trained in the classical tradition by the school of Auguste Rodin.
David Genty's passionate views regarding the place of figurative and representational art amidst the current trend of transgressive and often shocking contemporary art has led him to champion the artists he admires. He has cultivated relationships with the artists and encourages other admirers of art to engage the works in the same way.
He remodeled the 15th century building named Tyger's Head in Tonbridge and created an alternative viewing space that evokes a lived-in home filled with exquisite French sculptures and paintings. By using this space, David Genty foregoes the often impersonal museum or gallery setting and invites the viewers to appreciate the works of art in a more intimate setting.
The Genty Fine Art gallery is open by appointment and exhibits of various French paintings and sculptures are scheduled throughout the year. Art collectors who are interested in specific pieces can visit www.genty.co.uk or contact the gallery at 01732-36-95-65.
