Company Encourages Employees to Engage in Treasure Hunt to Find Yearly Bonus

Most companies hand out their yearly bonuses like candy. Employees line up to receive a warm greeting, a thank you, and a check, but one Pennsylvania company is creating a new way for employees to find their yearly bonus - through the company's CMMS

Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) May 28, 2012 - Most companies hand out their yearly bonuses like candy. Employees line up to receive a warm greeting, a thank you, and a check, but one Pennsylvania company is creating a new way for employees to find their yearly bonus - through the company's CMMS software program.

"We like to reward our employees for a job well done", said Michael Shoots, CEO of Data Systems Analysts, Inc. "But we didn't just want to hand over the bonus check to them, we wanted them to find it in a surprising way."

Data Systems Analysts, Inc. took several bonus checks and hid them throughout the company's storehouse where the inventory is held. Employees regularly use the company's [url="http://connectcmms.com]CMMS software program to track, find and monitor the company's existing inventory, but this time when they track it there will be special 'golden' listings. These listings will require further investigation, and turn up a bonus check.

"Some of our employees didn't like the idea of having to work a little harder to find their bonus check", said Shoots. "But the majority of them liked the idea of the little game they would be playing to find the extra money. It's like a treasure hunt, but with real cash prizes."

The company spent several days devising the treasure hunt, and programmed each person's unique account number to have access to a rare 'golden ticket' number. This insured that each person would receive a yearly bonus check, but it would be in a different place than the others.

"Truth be told I was getting a little bored with the idea of just handing out each check to a person at the end of the year", said Shoots. "This is just plain fun. And I am sure all those people who complained about how hard it is, will discover that it was worth the effort. We upped the bonuses this year."

So far, only five of the current fifteen employees have found their bonus checks. All the employees are aware of their checks, but some have not taken the initiative to find them.

"I liked the idea of hiding our bonus checks", said longtime employee, Joe Narrows. "But I won't go the extra distance to find it. If it pops up it pops up, if it doesn't it doesn't. I'm sure the company won't let us go without if we don't find it, it just doesn't make sense on their part. They will eventually tell us where it is, and I won't have to look so hard."
