Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) May 28, 2012 - When Josie Crow was a young woman growing up, her daredevil ways used to give her mother and father quite the scare. The young girl always seemed to be pushing her limits. Whether she was trying out a new pair of bat wings she invented to try to fly off the roof of her home or she was trying to rappel down the almost sheer cliff in the backyard of her childhood home, her parents could always count on at least one emergency room visit every few months.

As she aged, however, Josie's daredevil attitude seemed to do her more harm than good. As a senior, she began to rack up a long list of injuries due to her active nature. This is in spite of her children asking her to slow down and take it easy.

"Mother just didn't understand our concern for her activities," bemoaned Bill Crow, the youngest of Josie Crow's three children. "Even after we visited her in the hospital this last time when she broke her other hip, she still couldn't understand why we wanted her to be just a little more careful from now on."

Ilene Crow Brown continues, "We think Mother is just bored. She has always had a mind like a steel trap and living alone brings out the adventurer in her personality. By pairing Mother with a senior home care specialist, we are hoping she will be able to engage in some stimulating conversation that will keep her daredevil tendencies under control."

Indeed, much to her children's relief, this tactic seems to have worked. Both Ilene and Bill (another daughter, Frieda, is a field reporter living in some top secret location in which she has limited opportunities for contact with the outside world) have noticed Josie seems to be more relaxed now that she can count on the worker from the home care agency to come every day and talk to her.

At the suggestion of the worker, Josie also now attends classes on an almost daily basis. Gymnastics, karate and fencing are only a few of the classes Josie takes on a rotating daily basis.

"With Mother having a fun activity to look forward to each day, as well as the attention and conversation of her favorite worker, Bill and I have not been awaken by a telephone call in the middle of the night from the local hospital."
