Storitz.com joined businesses throughout Southern California for the 13th Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge benefiting the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Taking place on Halloween Day, October 31, the 13th Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge is the recipient of generous donations from both national and local businesses including: My Gym Children's Fitness Center, Impact AV, Big 5 Sporting Goods, K-Swiss, 100.3FM The Sound, 93.1 Jack-FM, Loeb & Loeb LLP, Storitz, Narvid Scott LLP, JR286, Hows Markets, Union Bank, Family Magazine Group, Travel Store, Mickey Fine Pharmacy & Grill, Exodus, O*P*I, AMS Fulfillment, Longo Toyota-Scion-Lexus, Langer Juice Company, Genetech, Golden Marashi, Paul A. Michael Muhney from "The Young and the Restless" will host the 13th Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge. This family-oriented 5K/10K walk/run will feature a Health & Fitness Expo, Halloween Kid Zone with pumpkin decorating, Halloween Costume Parade, the fabulous Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast and a Kids Can Cure Fun Run for kids 13-years-old and younger. A special award will be presented to celebrated teen sailor, Abby Sunderland for her bravery and providing her voice for creating awareness about pancreatic cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society: Cancer Facts & Figures 2010, an estimated 43,000 Americans will be diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2010 and nearly 37,000 will die from the disease. It has the #1 fatality rate of all cancers and is the #4 cancer killer in the U.S. among both men and women. 75% of Pancreatic Cancer patients die within the first 12 months of the diagnosis. Pancreatic Cancer is one of the few cancers for which survival has not improved substantially over the past 40 years.
