Lucky Break and a Portable Kitchen Island Saves Couple from Near Death Experience
When a ship or boat capsizes most people reach for floatation devices, life rafts, or life savers, but a couple used a unique kitchen object to save their life. A portable kitchen island, which happened to be built into the boat's kitchen, ended up

"We were out sailing and the water was calm", said husband, Tommy Baggins. "We checked the weather before leaving, and there wasn't any sign of a storm or anything. All of a sudden out of nowhere this massive wind and rain storm came, capsized our boat, and left us stranded with no communication and no way home."
Struggling to keep afloat, Tommy and his wife Sara, looked frantically around for anything to hang onto. Trying to hang on to the steering wheel, the couple nearly drowned. It was when they discovered their saving grace - the kitchen island, that they were saved.
"I thought we were done for", said Sara. "I was praying, and yelling and screaming, when all of a sudden this light from the sky shone down, and there was this floating portable kitchen island."
Tommy having discovered the floating portable kitchen island swam over to it and pulled Sara up to the top. The kitchen island served as a portable boat that the couple could rest on until help arrived.
"It was like this little island that just the two of us were on", said Tommy. "I really think we would have been dead if that portable kitchen island hadn't appeared. It was like someone was looking out for us."
When rescuers arrived they noticed that the couple was both sleep on the top of the kitchen island. After an extensive and complicated procedure, the couple was pulled up to the helicopter, wrapped in warm blankets, and rushed to the nearest emergency room for treatment of hypothermia.
"Truth be told if that kitchen island hadn't floated by them we'd be looking at two dead bodies", said chief manager of the rescue operation, James Hollows.
"There wasn't one piece of the shipwreck floating, except that kitchen island. I don't know what special powers it had, but it saved their life."
The rescue operation was able to save the portable kitchen island that helped save the couple. The Baggins plan to install it in their home as a tribute to the experiences that they went through.
"It will remind us of what happened on that dreaded night", said Sara. "I think it's fitting, and in a way a part of our family history now."
