13 Car Crash Leads to Health Agency Investigating Use of Manuka Honey

Medical researchers have never seen anything like it in their whole careers. People who should be suffering from third degree burns and unable to walk, were able to get out of their cars and walk away from the crash site with no injuries at all.

Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) May 31, 2012 - In the real world, car crashes are nothing like what they appear on the silver screen or on TV. People can become seriously injured or even die if the crash is serious enough. While most people would hope they would never find themselves in a situation where their car crashes, if they did encounter this problem they would hope it was a situation like what happened in Maine.

"It appears as if a 15 car pileup happened on one of the major highways leading into and out of Maine", explained state trooper, Charlie Summers. "While car pileups are nothing new to the area, it was the circumstances that surrounded the incident that will make this a thing of legends."

The pileup occurred around 5 p.m. when a cargo truck carrying massive shipments of Manuka honey crashed into a car that had suddenly hit its brakes. The cargo truck lost control and spilt Manuka honey all over the highway and the cars involved.

"Normally this would have been a devastating accident that left people leaving in body bags", said Summers. "But as luck or fate would have it the Manuka honey saved lives."

Manuka honey is known for its healing and medicinal uses. It is commonly used to prevent infections from spreading, or to heal large open wounds. It has been recently tested to see if it could help burn victims heal faster, but the results of the findings have been inconclusive.

"It appears that the honey landed on the crash victims and instantly started the healing process", explained one of the first responders on the scene. "I really haven't seen anything like this in well forever. Not one person was injured, even though their cars were completely crushed or flipped over."

Medical researchers have never seen anything like it in their whole careers. People who should be suffering from third degree burns and unable to walk, were able to get out of their cars and walk away from the crash site with no injuries at all.

"I don't know what happened", said crash victim, Jenn Heaven. "One minute I was driving, the next I was covered in icky, sticky goo. While I would normally be upset and pissed off, this apparently saved my life."

The incident is being investigated by not only the state troopers to see who was involved or why the crash happened, but by well-known medical institutions.

"We are looking into the how and why of this incident", said medical researcher, Jamie Thorn. "This could lead to what I can only suspect is the start of people's interest in using manuka honey as a healing product, so we want to know everything about how it works."
