Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) June 14, 2012 - Actors take preparing for their roles extremely seriously. There are tales of serious actors going into hibernation mode for months just to prepare for a role, so it was no surprise when veteran Broadway actress announced her latest plan to prepare for an up and coming musical.

"It has come to my attention that I cannot prepare for the role like I normally would", explained Bridget Landers. "I normally read books, talk to those who have experiences like my character, and watch movies. While I have tried all that, I just feel it isn't right and I need to explore this character's background further."

The musical, which has not been named yet, revolves around the complex and sometimes funny life of a young woman making her way in the world of accounting. The character falls in love, has feuds with bosses, and even hangs out with friends occasionally. However, despite that element of the musical a lot revolves around the physical office setting of an accountant.

"I could interview and watch movies on accounting till my heart's content", said Landers. "But I still wouldn't feel ready. The only way to actually be ready for this role is to jump in and become an accountant. That is what I am doing."

Bridget Landers has enrolled herself in an online accounting school where she will be taking a heavy school schedule to learn about accounting. Landers will be viewed as a regular student in the program, and no one but she and her director know that she is doing this.

"It was a huge step to take", said Landers. "But if it makes me a better actress I will do it. This is my one opportunity to shine, and I want to be fully prepared."

Landers will be taking courses like Intro to Accounting, Accounting in the Real World, Business Accounting, and Personal Accounting. All of these classes are required from first year accounting students, and will help her prepare for the role that is ahead of her.

"Finding the time will be hard", said director, Howard Humphrey. "But if anyone can do it, it will be Landers. She has a full day of rehearsal that involves singing, dancing, and stage blocking. Then she goes home at night and works as a student in accounting. Just amazing."

If Launders successfully completes the course, she will receive a degree in accounting.

"I guess I will have a backup if this musical flops", laughs Launders.
