Ramond, ME (prHWY.com) June 14, 2012 - Camp Timanous is a boys overnight summer camp located in Southern Maine, 25 miles west of Portland on the shores of Panther Pond, a beautiful New England setting. Here boys have fun, learn new skills, enjoy the outdoors, make lifelong friends, and return home more self-reliant, self-sufficient, and self-confident.

Campers choose from a variety of activities including sailing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, tennis, soccer, lacrosse, wood working, basketball, baseball, riflery, archery, running, pottery, hiking, fishing, campcraft, and nature. Timanous also has a strong camping trip program.

We believe that developing skills already acquired and facing the challenges of learning new ones implants in a boy incentive for growth and self-improvement leading to enhanced maturity and self-confidence. Planning and organization are essential as boys find comfort in routine but the organizing hand is intended to guide not dominate. Planning is flexible and the individual camper has a wide range of choices of activities.

Every boy has part of each day to do what he pleases, in contrast to the hectic, scheduled lives most of us experience during the school year. The necessary routine supplements rather than restricts the exercise of individual judgment and initiative. Timanous boys are never types; they are themselves.
