According to a report almost 8% foreigners try to enter illegally. Another 8% of the immigrants are living in Canada with an expired Visa. This 8% comes out to be about 60,000 people.

Way back in 2003 it was reported that about 200,000 undocumented people live in Canada. They continue to live here and support the economic growth of the nation.

A social insurance number is given to all the immigrants whostart with 9. The number of people living illegally can be checked by asking them to show their social insurance card.

Though Canada has the most easy immigration policy, yet, people are found to be sneaking in to get a job.

Auditor general, Sheila Fraser reported Canada has no track of more than 40,000 illegal immigrants.

Former head of the Canadian Immigration service, James Bissett, said that the country lacks any strong refugee screening process. Also there is no strictness about the deportation orders. This has made the conditions worse.

There are hotlines on which cops can be contacted to report about these frauds. There are councils requesting people to inform them about such fraudulent.

Before reporting you must secure yourself first by finding out the basic details of the immigrant quietly. Join a National forum and set alerts to know the basic ways.

Someone who comes across any illegal immigrant in as a neighbour have the choice of reporting the same without letting his or her identity revealed or else he can reveal his identity. Anonymous report is welcomed by the authorities but they need to ask a few questions to the reporter hence a small contact detail would be of help to the investigators.

Before reporting you should have a concrete proof against the said illegal immigrant. You should either witness and y illegal activity from him or should hear the same from a valid source. Try and collect the basic details about the Immigrant like his contact details, car details and the illegally act he has done. If possible collect his picture too. This would be a great help for immigration department to locate the person.

As per Canadian laws the landlord should always seek for relevant documents like travel details passport, Visa from the home seeker. In fact he should ask for a letter from the employer too. This makes him sure about renting the house to a legal immigrant. Only after being sure he should let out the house.

Curbing Illegal immigration is a joint responsibility of the Government and Citizens as well.
