Charleston, SC (prHWY.com) June 18, 2012 - Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina taught a class on estate planning and probate on Thursday April 26th 2012 at the Daniel Island Library In Charleston, SC. The class explored the basics of estate planning covering the topics of what an estate and assets are, what happens if you have no estate plan, what happens in probate court, what a will does for you, how a living trust works, how to plan for disability, what advance directives are and how they work, and how to get everything put together and organized. This was the first time that attorney Evan Guthrie made a presentation at Daniel Island Library, which is a part of the Berkeley County Library system and the second presentation for a library in Berkeley County.

Mr. Guthrie led the talk which lasted about an hour in duration and had time for questions after he was done speaking. Questions from the audience ranged from how a jewelry collection would be handled in planning an estate and how and when a durable power of attorney becomes effective and can take over someone's life. Attorney Guthrie was happy to be able to teach on an area of law that he practices and enjoys and give information about how to protect yourself and your family.
