Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) June 21, 2012 - Longstanding feuds between families are often discovered in the restaurant business. People often hear of two families fighting it out to be named the best pizzeria or sub shop in the area, but in St. Cloud, Minnesota two families have been battling for the title of best generator repair service.

"My family has been in the generator repair business for over 80 years", explained Jason Lashings. "We pride ourselves on offering superior service and being loyal to our customers."

Jason Lashings has worked with Lashings & Sons for the past 15 years. Lashings & Sons has been in direct competition with another local generator repair service called Summers Heating and Cooling. The two companies have been competing for business for the past 80 years, and this year they have decided to decide once and for all who the best in the industry is.

"We have decided to hold a competition that will pit Lashings & Sons and Summers Heating and Cooling against each other", explained a local radio DJ who is hosting the contest. "The contest will include several basic repairs and we will have a panel of judges, who are experts in the industry, vote on who did the best repairs. This should solve the question of who is the best."

The series of basic repairs the two companies will compete in will include generator repairs, AC repairs, and furnace repairs. Each round will last a half hour, in which representatives for the companies will have to diagnosis and treat the problem within that time slot. The judges will award scores at the end of each round.

"For over 80 years people have wanted to know who the best was", said Diane Land a long-time resident of St. Cloud. "It really was a matter of personal opinion who the best was, until now. This is the first time they are going head to head in competition."

The local radio station is hosting the competition and spectators can purchase tickets to the event. All proceeds from the event will go to the local St. Cloud hunger shelter.

"We really don't care who wins or loses", said James Lashings. "What our main goal is is to help a local charity through these tough economic times. However, instead of just handing over money we are doing it in a fun and exciting way. I really can't wait to compete in this competition!"
