For example, a pet owner would not get the same type of toys for a pet dog as they would for a pet hamster. Not only will these toys be designed of different materials depending on the type of pet, they will also likely be different sizes as well. This is something that Paul Gambit found out when he went to his local pet supply store.

"I've never had a pet before so I was really excited to get my pet alien, Gomez," Paul laments. "The first thing I did after I brought Gomez home was to run out to the nearest pet store to buy him a toy. I didn't realize that there were so many options for toys for aliens until I went shopping. There is so much to choose from!"

Paul stated that he spent several hours in the pet store mulling over his options for toys for his beloved Gomez. He found toys that match Gomez's mottled green skin as well as toys that contrasted with his skin color. Because he had a hard time choosing between the two, Paul bought several different varieties so he could see which type Gomez really enjoyed.

Of course, toys are not the only pet supplies that are needed when a pet alien is acquired. The housing needs of the pet should be given carefully consideration as well. When Paul bought a habitat for Gomez, he thought about Gomez's short term and long term needs.

Paul states, "I bought the largest alien habitat they sold at the pet store. I don't know what kind of alien Gomez is so I don't know who big he will grow so I bought him a really large habitat."

If a pet owner has a more exotic pet, it is likely that they will need to do a little extra legwork in order to find the necessary supplies that are needed for their pet. For those people who are proud owners of a giant panda, for example, it will be necessary to find a steady supplier of bamboo in order to keep such a pet happy. The same concept is true for those people who own large carnivores, such as lions and tigers that require a great deal of raw meat on a daily basis in order to remain happy and healthy.
