Everest Base Camp Trek is especially designed to explore the homeland of legendary sherpa people, their cultures & religions and the magnificient view of snow capped high mountains.
Kathmandu, Nepal (
prHWY.com) June 27, 2012 - Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the best adventure trekking in Nepal. Everest base camp trek starts from Lukla. The real adventure of this lodge-based trek begins after the plane landed at the tiny mountain airstrip at Lukla. Then we follow the footsteps of the great climbers, trekking through the home of the legendary Sherpa people, the cultivated fields, patches of birch trees and rhododendron forests. During the trekking, we spend several days in the homeland of the Sherpa people, and will see the Buddhist monasteries, sacred monuments and close up views of Mt. Everest (8848m, the highest peak in the world) and its spectacular peak Ama Dablam (6856m), considered one of the most beautiful mountains in Nepal. Namche Bazaar, known as the gate way to Mt. Everest, is a bustling market town in the heart of Sherpa country, with clusters of houses set amongst the high summer grazing pastures of the region. We spend 2 nights in Namche Bazaar and another 2 nights in Dingboche to explore the towns and acclimatize to the high altitude and thin air along the way to Everest Base Camp. This is an important factor in your enjoyment of the trek.
Trekkers, who have fully acclimatized, will be able to trek to Everest Base Camp. For many people, the main highlight will be the incredible views which unfold from the summit of Kalapathar (5545m), astonishing ice sculptures of the Khumbu Icefall and Khumbu Glacier and the south-west face of Mt. Everest itself.
