A New Direction Taken With the Release of The Ambient Album Between The Lines of Time and Space

The composer and writer David Griffin has just released his latest album of music: Between the Lines of Time and Space. The musical genre of ambient and dark ambient is a new direction for him

Gravesend, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) June 27, 2012 - Gravesend, Kent, UK, June 27, 2012 -- Although ambient music is fresh musical territory for David Griffin, it's an area he intends to be exploring more with future releases.

This intriguing new ambient/dark ambient/experimental album Between the Lines of Time and Space is influenced by eminent artists in the field of ambient music and experimental sound collage such as Brian Eno, The Future Sounds of London, Aphex Twin and Harold Budd. There are 19 tracks in all - lasting approximately 50 minutes - the titles lending a hand in adding to the intrigue of the unusual sounds: granular stratumesque, menthol vermillion, acrylic sentiments revealed and velvet obscure, to name a few.

"The tracks of Between the Lines of Time and Space are a delicate balance of sound textures, voice FX and musical themes," David explains, "with the aim of creating mystery and wonder while immersed in the evolving subtle layers of sound". Ambient tracks tend to be long but here there are no tracks longer than three minutes, some as short as a minute: "with the intention of switching the gears of your emotions as you move from one ambience to another," he adds.

By subtle experimentation and the blending of ambient elements with darker spaces and unexpected sounds, Between the Lines of Time and Space aims to create a bridge between the imagination and engaging ambient moods.

As well as an electronic music composer, David Griffin is also an author, having written two novels, as well as a creator of apps primarily for the iPad.
