The Secret World postponed two weeks

California, CA (prHWY.com) July 4, 2012 - In a press release sent out today Funcom announced that the highly anticipated online role-playing game The Secret World will come a bit later than expected. Originally, the studio entered 19 games June as the launch date, but have now pushed the release by exactly two weeks to 3 July.

Funcom says that the delay is market related:

- The new release date puts the Secret World of a more favorable launch window. This will benefit the release of the game, Funcom writes in the press release.

Just what the developer believes this is a bit unclear, since 19 June does not contain any obvious competitors for the massive online role-playing game. The game has the secret world gold been postponed for two months, but everything indicates that the game nearing completion and is to be found in stores in early July.

More beta weekends

At the same time the studio used the occasion to give out information on the two remaining beta weekend, the date and content. Beta weekends are events where players who have pre-purchased the game can help to try out parts of the game. The first weekend beginning 15 June and will allow eager beta testers try out the game's three factions starting areas, and embark on adventures in the great Savage Coast region. The second weekend starting 22 June, and the focus area are player-versus-player experience.

The Secret World Funcom's online role-playing third project after Anarchy Online and Age of Conan. The latter doubled its revenue since it went from making use of the subscription to be a free game. When Gamer.no interview game designer, Ragnar Tornqvist, a year ago was the Norwegian open for The Secret World to follow in the Age of Conan's footsteps eventually, but at launch the game will require a monthly subscription.
