McManis Faulkner has expanded with the addition of attorneys Lauren Coatney, Michelle Forrest and Neda Shakoori.
"We work with our clients as a team. Lauren, Michelle and Neda provide additional resources. The passion for the law and the diverse skills of these young lawyers bolster our group," said James McManis, head of the firm.
Coatney focuses on business litigation, representing individuals, closely held businesses and Fortune 500 companies in resolving matters involving contract disputes, fraud claims and other business-related matters. Before joining the firm she was a research attorney with the Miller Law Firm and an associate at Clark Hill, PLC. Coatney earned her J.D., cum laude, from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law (2010) and her B.A. from the University of Michigan (2007).
A member of the Family Law Group, Forrest represents individuals in family law matters, including marital and domestic partnership dissolutions, separation disputes, domestic violence, and child custody, visitation and support. While earning her J.D. from Santa Clara University, School of Law (2011), Forrest earned the Pro Bono Recognition Award for her involvement with Bay Area Legal Aid, the National Center for Youth Law, Legal Advocates for Children & Youth and numerous other organizations. She earned her B.S. from Stanford University (2003).
Shakoori practices civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial and business law matters. Representing a wide array of clients from public companies and closely held businesses to individuals, she works with clients to solve complex intellectual property disputes, securities fraud claims and personal injury cases. Previously a paralegal at the firm, Shakoori has a number of years of experience in the legal profession in various practice areas including family, bankruptcy and corporate law. Fluent in Farsi, she earned her J.D. from Lincoln Law School (2007) and her B.A. from the University of California, Davis (2003).
