Shade Sails Direct Introduce New Design Service

To assist customers in defining the dimensions of the custom sails the company has now introduced a FREE design service.

Libertyville, IL (prHWY.com) July 10, 2012 - Shade Sails originated in Australia and are now being distributed worldwide through a network of authorized distributors. The main markets are the USA, Canada and Europe. The shade sails are offered in five standard sizes and four colours:

Premium Quality Right Triangle (90°) shade sail 9' 10" x 13' 1" x 16' 5"
Premium Quality Triangular shade sail 16' 5"
Premium Quality Triangular shade sail 11' 10"
Premium Quality Square shade sail 11' 10"
Premium Quality Square shade sail 16' 5"

The colours on offer are porcelain, grey, green and sand.

In addition to the standard size products which are manufactured from 7 ounce material, the company also offers a custom made option in two qualities - 7 ounce for residential use and 10 ounce professional grade material.

Offering a custom option has allowed the company to dramatically increase sales in 2012, but has highlighted some issues which the company are now adressing.

General Manager Bob Tidy explains:

"Introducing our custom range has been great for business. All those people who wanted to have a shade sail but with a backyard or deck that just didn't match our standard sizes now have the perfect solution. What we hadn't realised is that not everyone can remember their school geometry and be able to calculate the lengths and angles to fully specify the shade sails shape. For a simple square or equilateral triangle most people can work out the sizes but more complex shapes do require some work with a calculator and the appropriate mathematical formulae. It is for this reason that we have now introduced a FREE design service to help people to specify the sail dimensions correctly."

Since introducing the custom made shade sails the company have had many enquiries from customers who were simply unable to calculate the correct sizes for their shade sail. This can often be a three dimensional problem if the mounting points of the sail are at different heights. In addition to the calculation of the basic shape an allowance has to be made for the installation of tensioners at each corner plus the fact that the sail stretches under tension so the manufactured product is actually larger when it is correctly installed.
