Solihull, NY (prHWY.com) July 11, 2012 - July 11, 2012 - Anyone aspiring to become a professional hypnotherapist should undergo the right training and the proper certification. This is what the American Institute of Health Care Professionals advocates, which is why they have started offering certification and recertification programs for licensed hypnotherapists. These hypnosis courses are accredited by the American College of Hypnotherapists (ACH), so you can be sure that the certificate you obtain from the organization will qualify you to practice hypnosis and hypnotherapy on patients needing alternative medical care.

The American Institute of Health Care Professionals requires applicants for certification to submit an application form to the ACH along with proof of prior hypnosis or hypnotherapy education. These can be in several forms, whether from a traditional university or distance learning program. The AIHCP and the ACH will then assess the application and determine whether or not the formal education obtained by the applicant is enough to merit a certification in hypnotherapy.

Once the application is approved, the individual can then choose among continuing education courses offered by the organization. Continuing hypnosis courses are spread over a certain number of years, and the applicant must complete the required number of contact hours before certification is given. Clinical hypnotherapists are not the only ones who can take advantage of these certification courses however.

The American Institute of Health Care Professionals also offers continuing education and certification to other healthcare professionals who wish to venture into this type of practice. Whether you are a licensed nurse, a social worker, a healthcare provider who has completed a bachelor's degree, or a pastoral counselor, you can apply for hypnotherapy certification and be allowed to practice as a clinical hypnotherapist once you have met the required number of hours in the program. An application fee of $175 will be charged by the institute, of which applicants who are not qualified can have refunded.

There are other certification courses and programs offered by the AIHCP along with other licensing bodies in the country. If you are a nurse for example and have been practicing for a number of years, you can choose to apply for continuing education in nursing case management to help you deal with issues stemming out of various clinical procedures. You can visit the American Institute of Health Care Professionals website at www.aihcp.org if you wish to know more about hypnotherapy certification. You can also send them an email at info@aihcp.org or give them a call at 330-652-7776 if you have immediate queries.
