Ghaziabad, India (prHWY.com) July 19, 2012 - I was finally on the path of fulfilling my dream of joining a top B school .This reason alone was enough to bring out a sense of excitement within me. With this excitement and my aspirations I entered the gate that read "Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad".

This day also marked the commencement of my foundation course which was an amazing experience and through which I learnt many new things. I learnt about LIVE - the four pillars of my institute which are Leadership, Innovation, Values, Excellence .

I came to know about the Global Breadth India Depth, the caption that illustrates the mission of our institute succinctly. I got a chance to listen to different industry experts and their viewpoints on various issues and challenges the business- world faces today. Their lectures were really thought provoking and an eye opener for me. In one of the lectures I learnt an important concept of "I , you, we and the extended we" that not only explains the importance of knowing oneself but also the importance of knowing others and serving the society at large. We were taught 4 Ps namely Personal development, Perspectives, Periods and Processes.

The thing I really liked about the whole foundation course was the stress that was laid on the application of knowledge and case based methodology. Group discussions helped me understand different perspectives that people have and how to study on human rationality and spontaneity in crucial situations.

Then we had a role-play session in which we were supposed to enact the whole situation. This session brought out actors in different participants that made the session not only informative but also entertaining. We were shown a video that showed how banking came into existence and how human- greed contributed in destructible situations.

Then we had sessions that explained the role of India and its influence in global economy. Above all the whole foundation course was carefully designed out and sessions were a mix of classroom and group learning. The most important thing that I realized in the course is that- every person is special in their own way and has something to contribute to the class but many times we fail to notice this because we are more focused on proving our point rather than listening to someone else's views. So it's important to develop the listening skills because at the end it is team work that matters. Another important thing that came out of this course was the fact that in order to learn, at times you should learn to un-learn.

This marks the start of a long journey and I am extremely hopeful about it.
