One Quick Fix Beauty Treatment You Won't Want to Miss
Why microdermabrasion may be right for you and all of the facts you didn't know.

Microdermabrasion was first developed in 1985, but wasn't really perfected until around the early 2000's. Before I go into detail of how the process works it is important to understand the skin structure and why microdermabrasion works. Very simply put, skin is made up of two layers, the dermis and the epidermis. The epidermis is the outer most layer and is composed of mostly dead skin cells and cells that are ready to take the dead cells place. The outermost layer of the epidermis is called the stratum corneum. When anything happens to the stratum corneum, the layers underneath in the epidermis are ready to regenerate and essentially fill in for the outermost layer. The neat thing about how the skin regenerates is that when it is damaged or feels the need to heal itself the new skin usually grows in healthier than the previous layer.
Once you understand the structure of the skin it is much easier to understand how microdermabrasion works. There are two different methods that can be used during microdermabrasion. The first is the more traditional method and starts off by spraying a thin layer of crystals, diamonds, or a few other select materials onto the surface of the skin and then essentially vacuuming up the crystals along with the dead skin cells that have been affected by the material. The second method is the same as the first except instead of spraying the material they are placed on a tipped wand that is moved across the skin. The cleanup process for the second method is the same as the first. The removal of the dead skin is what stimulates new growth and can give you the results you desire.
These results can include removal of light scaring, sun damage, discolorations, and can even be effective on surface layer wrinkles. These results can be achieved because when the new skin grows in it should be taut and have a smoother appearance than the previous layer. This procedure is non-surgical and can easily be performed with minimal down time.
