New Technology Could Help Attorneys Fight for Truck Accident Victims
Recreating the scene of an accident in the courtroom often required the use of a professional sketch artist or some toy trucks and cars, but a new concept developed by a truck accident lawyer based out of Pennsylvania eliminates

"We used to have to rely upon the jurors imagination and a little creative thinking with some toys", said Dan Manners. "Now we can recreate an entire crash scene right in the middle of the court room with the help of technology. There is no need to resort to silly drawings or other items, because it is all right there in front of the jurors."
The software program takes images from the actual scene of the accident and places jurors on the sidelines of the accident. There is real-time traffic, the actual size of the car and truck involved in the accident, and even potential witnesses.
"The real advantage of this software program is it puts jurors right there at the scene of the accident", said Manners. "A lot of jurisdictions are eliminating the ability to take a field trip to the scene of the accident and that is critical to a case. This allows us to bring the jurors to the scene without costing the court any money."
The 3-D software program was first used in a case that Manners was handling. The case involved a semi-truck and a family van. The software program allowed jurors to become a part of the accident, see what happened, and witness it firsthand.
"This was a turning point for truck accident attorneys everywhere", said Manners. "We can now take cases we wouldn't normally handle, because our chances of winning are greater than ever before."
Laws regarding the use of such a software program as evidence are being discussed all over the country. The majority of legislators and individuals are in favor of allowing such a program in the courtroom.
"There are some grey areas that need to be worked out in terms of the law", said an anonymous source. "There is a concern people could manipulate the software program to show something that didn't really happen, so we need to pass laws to make sure only the facts are used. However, it really is a useful tool that could help tons of people."
