He Loved the Soft Porn of the City is a multimedia concept album featuring Skovgaard's style: electronic classical & punk rock fusion. It tells the story of a day in the life of Skovgaard at BMAS. "Nothing was too crazy," says Dr. Allan Von Schenkel, "We explored every idea." The show uses music, film, dance, & story telling, drawing inspiration from Liszt, Beethoven, Nirvana, and Pink Floyd.

Moderno Trio and Skovgaard worked and lived together at the Basically Modern Arts Sanctuary (BMAS) in the Catskills of New York for the last two years of Skovgaard's life. They collaborated on Paris and Che: A Conversation Between Che Guevara and Paris Hilton and his final work, Donalds09. Skovgaard died soon after leaving the Sanctuary. Then, Moderno Trio began to write He Loved the Soft Porn of the City.

Skovgaard, as he liked to be called, was classically trained, but punk rock spoke to him. His music could be strictly traditional like Distances (1991) or Formation (1995), or punk-rock like, The Kurt Cobain Songs 2002, SleepMyDarlingJunkieSleep (2006). Skovgaard worked with Moderno Trio at BMAS perfecting this exciting fusion of classical & electronic punk.
