Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) August 2, 2012 - The endless debates throughout the past few centuries decades can finally be put to rest thanks to travelers that recently took an Antarctica cruise during vacation. While many were relaxing and enjoying the cruise festivities, some travelers had an up close and personal encounter with Hugo the abominable snowman himself. Sheila Hemmingsley was enjoying a drink on the deck when she noticed the unusually large, fluffy, white creature waving at her.

Like many of the other passengers on the ship at the time, Sheila was initially uncertain about how she should react to the giant creature. That's when he said hello. "The ship started rocking on the waves because he just kind of came over through the water and introduced himself," recalls Sheila. "He was very polite, which helped to break the ice since we were all staring at him."

Paul Torres, on vacation from his ranch in Texas, says he's never seen anything like Hugo in his entire life. "You hear stories and rumors about these kinds of experiences while on trips and everything, but you never think that they're really going to happen to you, until they actually do." Paul explained that he was initially in shock when he saw the creature approaching the ship, and was uncertain if he was awake or dreaming. "I had heard stories about this type of thing, you know, giant snow monsters or whatever you wanna call them, but I never once thought it was true. Then we all met Hugo."

Paul continues, "I guess the greatest moment had to have been when he even took some time to take pictures with my son." The passengers on the trip all agreed that the most impressive factor about Hugo was how friendly he was. After making friends with several of the passengers passing by on the cruise, he even offered to push their ship gently through the water so they would reach their destination more quickly. While the captain declined the offer and apologized for the delay, many travelers noted that they would have loved to spend more time talking with the creature that has stumped scientists for years.

"Meeting him and seeing him in person was just a once in a lifetime experience, I don't think it's something that will really ever happen again," says Laurie Doone, a new abominable snowman enthusiast. "He really wasn't that abominable at all. I hope I see Hugo on my next cruise."
