People Who Use Car Polish Reported To Live an Average Extra 10 Years
In a unique study done by students at the University of Michigan, it has been found that people who regularly use car polish to give their vehicles an extra bit of shine live an average of at least 10 more years that people who don't.

"It may not seem to make a whole lot of sense when presented out of context," said primary researcher Joe Allen, "but if you think about it, people who care more about the appearance of their belongings tend to care more about their own health and appearance as well."
"People with nicer looking cars tend to attract other people who have similar qualities as well," he continued, "which means that you can end up with people in relationships who have similar healthy habits."
The study showed that the particular brand of car polish didn't seem to make any difference for the results, nor did the country that the person was born in, raised in, or had lived in most of his or her life. It was a strictly relational value, and the accuracy of the results was tested over many different groups of people.
"A big question that comes from this," said Barbara James, another researcher in the project, "is if you can cheat this process a little big. Once people realize that there is a direct relationship between car polish and a longer life, will people begin to polish their cars in an attempt to live longer? Will people who are tired of living quit polishing their cars? It's quite a slippery slope when you think about some of the possible ramifications."
For those people out there who already have their imaginations running wild, you can start thinking of other possibilities as well. Will waxing your car add another few years to your life? Does it matter if you own a motorcycle? Will polishing something as simple as a bicycle work just as well? If you begin having your children polish your car when they are pre-teens, will that add to the effect as well?
The University of Washington plans on continuing this study with further potential experiments, so watch out for an entirely new set of advertising for car polish when their results begin to trickle out into the mainstream!
