Aircraft LCD Monitors and Displays by Flight Display Systems Offer a Totally New Concept in Aircraft Video Technology
The incredibly popular Flight Display Systems company today announced the introduction of a new concept in aircraft video technology. The new system provides high-definition 1080p video quality viewing that's easy to install and maintain.

Aircraft owners who are looking for a simple yet cost-effective way to upgrade their aircraft LCD monitors will benefit the most from Flight Display Systems products. The company's executive leadership team had two goals when they developed and designed the new Fly HD. The first goal was to build high quality components and the second was to make them simple to install. To view the details please visit http://www.flightdisplay.com/.
These goals were achieved by engineering the components to use HD-SDI signals on the common coaxial cable that is already installed on many aircraft. This is the best and most cost efficient method to accomplish the goal simply because it reduces the number of converters that are normally required and at the same time it limits the amount of rewiring that's necessary to complete the task.
Fewer converters + less rewiring = lower total cost for a full 1080p HD video system. The Fly HD components fall into three categories:
1. High-Definition Widescreen Monitors,
2. HD-SDI Backbone Switches and Converters, and
3. High-Definition Source Equipment.
"We've been working towards creating an end-to-end High-Definition system like this for years," says David Gray, President of Flight Display Systems. "Now we have cracked the code to perfect aircraft HD video that delivers true VIP experience for in-flight entertainment and other video."
The Fly HD monitors from Flight Display Systems are available for a variety of functions and they are sized from 7" to 55" in widescreen format. The smaller 7" and 10" units can be easily attached to a plane's arm mounts for each passenger access at the seat. Larger aircraft cabin displays are typically used on bulkheads and in custom-built consoles and they are incredibly easy to install and use.
The key to the system is HD-SDI, which can transmit a full uncompressed 1080p high-definition signal via one coaxial cable. HD-SDI cabling is a thin coaxial cable with BNC connectors. Flight Display Systems provides several HD-SDI crossover switches which allow multiple sources to be transmitted to multiple monitors.
Flight Display Systems manufactures high-definition source equipment such as a Blu-ray player, a 1080p cockpit camera and the Jet JukeBox. Our Special Mission and Law Enforcement customers use the High-Definition Digital Video Recorder for mission tracking and playback.
