Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) August 13, 2012 - There are many people that dream of owning a home. Many people take months to find the perfect home for themselves, making sure they love everything about their new home. As these happy homeowners move into their home, they enjoy the solitude and the many freedoms that come with living in their own home. Not so for first time homebuyer, Katie Bowles.

Katie Bowles worked two jobs for three years in order to pay her way through life and save enough money to put down on a house. It took her 6 months to find the home that she felt would be perfect for her and her dog, Bows. When she found the house located at 666 Sixty-Sixth Ave., she felt that she found a home she could retire in.

"I moved in the first night and I thought the noises I heard were just normal house noises." Katie said. She described her first night in her new home filled with different creaks and gently breezes from her open windows. She stated that as time went past, she began to notice the different sounds and they weren't normal. "It sounded like other people lived here. I heard water running in the tub and running down the stairs. It was really weird. I heard babies crying and it just got to be too much." She admits that she thought she'd made a mistake in choosing her new home.

Rather than give up, Katie decided to do some research. She found her home was previously owned by only one large family. It stayed in that family because when one family member would mysteriously die, another relative would move in. "I think that's so cool. Like, who else can say that about their home in this neighborhood?" Katie said as she opened a book filled with yellowed newspaper clippings of the home's previous owners.

Research has shown the previous owners were wealthy people, known for their bitter feuds about money. As these feuds between different members would erupt, the current occupant of the house would be found dead with no cause or they would be found dead because of an accident. Local legend has it the feuds would start because there were secrets buried in the home and they didn't want those secrets uncovered. There are no blood relatives left of the previous family, which explains how the home came to be put on the market.

When asked what she thought of the legends and the mysterious deaths of the previous owners, Katie said, "Oh, I don't mind. It's kind of fun. I know I'm not alone in this big house and they know it's in good hands." Katie believes the souls of the home's previous owners just want to stay with what they believe is rightfully theirs and she loves it.
