Creepy Ghost Sighting Spotted Near Family's Gas Furnace
A local family's home within the town of St. Augustine, Florida has been the recent sighting of some ghostly encounters. Homeowner Frank N. Stein noted that the sightings began just last week. "I wandered down to my basement to grab some food from

Frank's wife Nancy also had some sightings of her own to share. "I went down to the basement to dig out some old toys that my children used to play with that I was going to sell at our garage sale. As I was carrying the last box up the stairs, I noticed that my son's old toy truck was missing. After feeling quite puzzled, I heard a noise over by the gas furnace. As I looked over, the toy truck was going off on its own while I heard a faint laugh. I froze up and had no clue what to do so I ran up the stairs to get Frank. I was terrified."
Despite the Stein's home being a recent hotbed for paranormal activity, it seems to have no history of anything ghostly occurring. Local historian Todd Waters goes on to explain further. "The Stein's house was built in 1978 and only one family has lived there. While I do believe in ghosts, it seems more than likely that the Steins were simply seeing things."
Going along with the claims of Mr. Waters is St. Augustine's premier paranormal investigator group, known as the Ghost Whisperers. Lead investigator Barry Moore claims that this can all be explained. "Most basements have a ton of electrical wiring found next to their gas furnace. Because of this, homeowners will typically experience EMFs which can cause headaches, dizziness, and hallucinations. EMF, which stands for electromagnetic field, can be measured using an EMF detector. If levels are found to be abnormal on a consistent basis, this is most likely why the Steins are getting that creepy feeling."
After hearing these claims, the Steins invited Barry Moore and his team to come and investigate their household. During the three hour investigation, Barry claimed to have seen a shadow-like figure "at least three times, if not more."
Despite these sightings, Barry claims that he may have simply been seeing things. He also noted that EMF levels were consistently high throughout the basement.
Whether or not these claims are true, the Steins claim that they know what they saw to be true. As Mr. Stein says, "I don't care what anyone else thinks. I know what I saw. Even though I felt scared, the presence does not appear to be harmful and seems to just want to hang around. As long as it isn't eating my food, I don't mind." Additional investigations with the Ghost Whisperers are being planned for the coming weeks.
