Betta Warns U.K. Drivers about French Standards for Breathalysers

More important is that the breathalysers must conform to French standards.

As reported by BBC News recently, a new law by the French government is now in force for drivers to have breathalyzer kits in their vehicles when driving to, within and from the country. The law aims to address the alarming number of road deaths attributed to alcohol. Foreign drivers are also included in the rule, although there is a grace period lasting until November.

Aside from bringing optional items like wheel trims or car roof boxes, drivers must have breathalyser kits when motoring within France. Breathalyser kits must also bear the NF or "Norme Française" logo to signify approval to French standards. Failure to comply by 1 November 2012 can result in a fine of 11 euros.
