Diamond set wedding rings are grooms choice
A leading UK diamond retailer has said that the growth in the popularity of diamond set wedding rings is down men. Fashion and image conscious males see their wedding rings as a great way to wear stunning diamonds.

Diamonds have been a feature of engagement rings and eternity rings for hundreds of years, but it has only been in the past few decades that diamond set rings have grown in popularity as a traditional wedding ring. The De Beers 'Diamonds are Forever' campaign was instrumental but a Birmingham-based diamond jeweller thinks that men may have played a bigger role.
Oliver Sutton of iwantdiamonds said this week "More and more grooms are opting for diamond wedding rings. For the most part, men's fine jewellery tended to belong to one of two extremes, subtle and barely there or over the top. The rise in popularity of diamond set wedding rings is partly driven by a desire from men to be able to wear fashionable diamond jewellery of their own that was both remarkable enough to get noticed but still subdued enough to not make too bold a statement. Diamond set wedding rings offered the perfect solution"
Today, it's rare that a male partner does not wear a wedding ring and grooms have seen the wearing of the ring as an opportunity not only to confirm their marital status but also to show their fashion credentials.
Mr Sutton said "Men in the UK are really embracing the idea of diamond set wedding rings because it allows them the chance to incorporate more diamond jewellery into their collections. Diamond set wedding rings are understated, designed to be classy and sophisticated while still showcasing the true beauty of the diamonds themselves, a balance that many grooms increasingly value. Diamond set wedding rings offered gentleman a chance to proudly show their love - both of their new wife and of fine jewellery."
