Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) August 28, 2012 - Supplemental Security Income disability administrators have decided that they are going to have an additional service that comes along with the money that is typically associated with people who get financial aid from the service.

It will be an entirely voluntary set of classes that local educational facilities that will be putting on as a part of a greater experiment that shows people who to reframe the idea of a disability in their minds into a benefit for them and their families and general environment.

Take, for instance, the idea of being blind. Many of the people who receive SSI disability get it because they are blind. But some of the most talented musicians in the world are blind. Some of the most amazing artists are blind. So the program that is going to be starting shortly is having some of these amazing musicians and artists, or at least their representatives, come into sets of meetings and explain to these people some of the talents they can work on not only despite their disabilities, but almost because of them.

The psychology behind the idea is quite fascinating, and the program is being headed by Alfred Dells, who himself is blind.

"I went through a period of severe depression after I lost my eyesight," said Dells, "but with the help of my support group, I overcame the feeling of being sorry for myself, and tried to reframe it so that I could get up in the morning and function."

Soon Dells was a motivation speaker, explaining what he went through, and ultimately he came up with the idea of a great way to reach people who believe that they are disabled, and that would be through reaching out to people who were in some type of SSI disability program.

"We're not trying to give them any less money, either," says Dell, "we're simply trying to get them to appreciate the lives that they have that much more during the time that they have on the earth. So many amazing things can occur even after you are considered 'disabled'; it's just that you have to think of things in a different manner. It has been proven again and again that success starts from within, so if you determine that you can do something specific, no external conditions can necessarily keep you from obtaining your goals."
