Source Code Media Group Categorically Denies Unsubstantiated Allegations of Patent-trolling; Defends Right to Protect IP for Photo
Source Code Media Group Defends Right to Pursue Patent Protection for Its Pikigram Photo-Sharing App and System for Mobile Devices. Rejects unsubstantiated allegations of 'patent-trolling' leveled by amateur tech blogger, Roy Schestowitz.

"Source Code Media Group categorically denies the unsubstantiated accusations of patent-trolling which Mr. Schestowitz leveled on the Techrights blog in response to our July 26th press release.(http://goo.gl/y6V9D) Furthermore, we feel that Mr. Schestowitz's claims were a disingenuous attempt to advance his general "anti-software patent" views by misapplying the standard definition of 'patent-trolling.'
We immediately reached out to Mr. Schestowitz upon becoming aware of his wholly inaccurate blog post with the intent to clear up any confusion associated with our efforts. This included the posting of a response on his blog as well as an invitation to discuss the matter via telephone. Simply put, we wanted to communicate to Mr. Schestowitz our ongoing development efforts as well as our intent to commercialize the Pikigram system upon completion.
Perhaps what is most revealing about Mr. Schestowitz position is his assertion in one of his responses that, "I care about what's correct." And yet, when presented with the commonly accepted Wikipedia definition for the term 'patent-troll', Mr. Schestowitz simply refused to respond.
As indicated in our press release, Source Code Media Group decided to pursue patent protection for its Pikigram photo-sharing app and system because it incorporates a number of elements which we feel are novel and will have substantial commercial value upon our entry into the market. Mr. Schestowitz should take note of Apple's recent victory in its patent dispute with Samsung and realize that pursuing patent protection in the tech world is not only a legal and valid strategy, but also one which is wise.
