LG releases 'world's biggest' 84inch ultra-definition TV.
LG has announced what is claimed to be the "world's first" 84-inch television that can support 4K ultra definition (UD) pictures.

"LG is pushing the limits of home entertainment innovation with this 3D UD TV," said Havis Kwon, President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company. "We are bringing together all our Smart TV and 3D knowledge in the 3D UD TV in order to demonstrate to the CES audience that LG is committed to being the world's leading brand for immersive home entertainment in 2012 and beyond."
LG's 3D UD TV boasts high picture quality with 8 million pixels, four times the resolution (3840x2160) of existing Full HD TV panels. It features LG's Slim and Narrow Bezel Design as well as 3D Depth Control, which allows users to control the 3D effect. In addition, the 3D Sound Zooming provides users with 3D sound that rivals home theater systems, according to LG.
With a relative paucity of UD sources, there's an upscaler to try to pretty up more standard HD (and apparently SD) pictures, and of course the presence of LG's Cinema 3D.
The 4K display market is still in its infancy but it was important for LG to claim a stake in this space," said Havis Kwon, President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company.
"LG's UD 3D TV represents a whole new level of home viewing experience because it offers every advanced technology."
