Jorge Dominguez is setting a new standard and making a name for himself by painting his artwork on doors in Mesa Arizona. Initially, many of his works were going unnoticed. Within the past few weeks, he started painting doors at a higher interval, covering and giving a new style to many of the old doors within the city.

"I just thought it was a shame that there were so many doors in the city that hadn't been given any attention or maintenance over the past few years. I don't completely cover them in my art unless I have permission from the owner of the property, of course. But on a lot of the doors, you'll see that I kind of refinished them in my own way, made them look like new, and just painted a few little things here and there for a subtle style."

Mesa local Susan Grey says that she had mixed opinions about the doors when she first noticed that they were being painted around the town. "At first, I had only heard about this guy painting the doors and I hadn't seen it for myself. So initially, I really disliked the idea because I thought he was just some inexperienced kid that was going around and painting people's doors without their permission. But then as I started actually noticing the doors in the area and someone pointed out his work, I realized he was doing a pretty substantial job."

Jorge created such a success with the door paintings in the area, he was actually offered a job by one of the door installation services in Mesa.

"A local service contacted me and said that they liked what I was doing with those doors, making them look new again and giving them a new style. They offered me a position with their service, coming up with a few new door designs and helping to get them installed. I couldn't be more thrilled," he shares. When asked if he planned on still painting doors in his spare time, Jorge said he wouldn't out rule the possibility. "I enjoy art and creating something new, so you might see a few new designs on doors when I'm not busy. I'm training to make new door designs now at my new job, so if anyone wants a unique door, they should come check out the work."
